The cheap one that is not the risky one
GigSky in Vietnam
GigSky undercuts everyone at the sizes most people actually buy, keeps an intact review record, and lets you test the signal for free before spending anything.

The GigSky Vietnam plans
USD, checked 2026
| Plan | Price | Per GB | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100MB / 7 days | free | — | No card required. The only free trial in this comparison. |
| 1GB / 7 days | $2.99 | $2.99 | Yesim's 1GB is one cent dearer and lasts 30 days. |
| 3GB / 15 days | $7.49 | $2.50 | Cheapest 3GB here. Saily's is 50 cents more for 30 days. |
| 5GB / 30 days | $10.29 | $2.06 | Cheapest 5GB here, and a full month of validity. |
| 10GB / 30 days | $16.79 | $1.68 | Cheapest 10GB here, $1.21 under Airalo. |
| Unlimited / 1 day | $3.49 | $1.00 | Sold as Unlimited, priced by the day (1 to 30). 3.5GB a day at full speed, then slowed (speed not published), reset 24h from activation. Per GB = per full-speed gigabyte. |
| Unlimited / 3 days | $10.49 | $1.00 | |
| Unlimited / 7 days | $24.49 | $1.00 | |
| Unlimited / 15 days | $44.99 | $0.86 | |
| Unlimited / 30 days | $65.99 | $0.63 |
Note what is missing: there is no 20GB or 50GB GigSky plan for Vietnam. The ladder stops at 10GB and then jumps to Unlimited. If you need a big bundle, this is not your brand, and Airalo's 50GB at $49.00 is where to look.
The free 100MB is the most useful thing GigSky does
and nobody else offers it
GigSky gives away 100MB valid for seven days, with no card and no trial that converts into a subscription. On a country where coverage is genuinely uneven, that is worth more than it sounds.
What we would use it for: install it alongside whatever else you buy, and use it as a diagnostic. Land, switch to the GigSky line, and see whether it connects and to what. If it holds a signal at your hotel in Ha Giang, you have learned something no comparison page can tell you.
100MB is enough for a day of maps and messaging if you are careful, so it also works as an emergency reserve on the day your main plan runs out at 22:00 in a city you do not know.
There is no reason not to have this installed before you fly. It costs nothing, it expires unused, and it is the only way to test a Vietnamese network from your sofa.

The pattern is clean. Everywhere GigSky sells a plan, it is the cheapest or within pennies of it, with a review record nobody has raised a flag about. It simply stops selling above 10GB, and it will not tell you whose network you are on.
For a two-week trip on the coast road, that combination is close to ideal and saves you a dollar or two over Airalo. For a month of remote work, or for the Ha Giang loop, the missing information and the missing big bundle both start to matter.
The one thing GigSky will not tell you
and why we still rank it second
This site's central argument is that in Vietnam the network matters, because travelers report VNPT and Viettel diverge once you leave the coast. GigSky's Vietnam page names no Vietnamese partner, checked 2026.
Third-party write-ups assert that GigSky uses Vinaphone and Viettel. GigSky's own materials do not say that, and we are not going to launder a blog claim into a fact by repeating it here. What we can say: GigSky's model has historically been direct carrier agreements rather than a broker layer, which is a reason for cautious optimism and not evidence.
How much that costs you depends entirely on your route. On the coast road it is close to irrelevant, because all three Vietnamese networks work there and GigSky is a dollar cheaper. In the far north it is the difference between a working phone and a paperweight, and the fix is a brand whose page lists Viettel, like Yesim, or Viettel's own tourist eSIM.
Buying and activating GigSky
and one pricing quirk
- Buy on the GigSky website at home on wifi. Prices in the app vary with the region setting on your account, so check that it is showing USD before you compare against anything on this page.
- Take the free 100MB first. Install it, keep it, and use it as your arrival diagnostic. It costs nothing and expires on its own.
- Install the paid profile before you fly. It does not start counting until it connects in Vietnam.
- On landing: switch the GigSky line on for data, home line on for calls with data roaming off. If nothing connects in five minutes, set network selection to manual and work through Vinaphone, Viettel, MobiFone. Full setup and fixes.
Buy it or skip it
the honest split
Buy GigSky if
You need 3, 5 or 10GB, which covers most Vietnam trips. It is the cheapest at all three and it is not the brand with the review problem.
You want to test before you commit: 100MB free for seven days, no card.
You want the cheapest unlimited: $24.49 for 7 days, $44.99 for 15, $65.99 for 30, less than Saily, Airalo, Yesim or Holafly at the same length.
You are on the coast road, where the undisclosed network question is largely academic.
Skip GigSky if
You need 20GB or more: it simply does not sell one for Vietnam.
You want to know your network before paying: Airalo, Holafly and Yesim publish theirs.
You are heading north: pick a brand that lists Viettel, or add Viettel's tourist eSIM.
You want the best support record: Saily's 4.7 from 32,870 is the strongest here.
Questions
on GigSky in Vietnam
Is GigSky good for Vietnam?
Yes, for trips needing 10GB or less. It is the cheapest at 3GB, 5GB and 10GB, its Trustpilot record is 4.3 from 8,403 reviews (checked 2026), and the free 100MB lets you test the connection before spending anything. It sells nothing above 10GB and publishes no network partner.
Which network does GigSky use in Vietnam?
GigSky's Vietnam page does not name one, checked 2026. Third-party guides claim Vinaphone and Viettel; GigSky's own materials do not say so, and we do not repeat unverified network claims. Install the free 100MB plan and check what your phone actually connects to on arrival.
Is the GigSky free plan really free?
Yes: 100MB valid for seven days, no card required and nothing to cancel. It is a genuine trial rather than an introductory subscription, and it is the only one of its kind among the brands we compare.
What is the cheapest GigSky Vietnam plan?
1GB for seven days at $2.99, or free if 100MB is enough for you. For a real trip the useful numbers are 5GB at $10.29 and 10GB at $16.79, both with 30 days of validity, and both the cheapest in our comparison at those sizes.
Does GigSky have unlimited data for Vietnam?
Yes. GigSky Unlimited is priced by the day: $3.49 for one day, $10.49 for three, $24.49 for seven, $44.99 for fifteen and $65.99 for thirty, the cheapest unlimited in our comparison at each of those lengths. That is 3.5GB a day at full speed, then slower data at a speed GigSky does not publish, never cut off; full speed resumes 24 hours from plan activation. Saily's cap is bigger, 5GB a day.
Why are GigSky prices different in the app?
GigSky prices vary with the region setting on your account, so the app can show a different currency and a different number than the website. Check the currency before you compare with anything on this page, where every figure is the USD price.
